Oracle JDeveloper 12c Installation Issues

Recently I tried installing Oracle JDeveloper 12.2.1.3 and it took me a while to install it. I came across a number of issues. Previously Oracle used to provide us with exe files which were easily installable but from now onwards I am seeing lot of issues because of java. These issues might come while installing other Jdeveloper versions as well like 12.1, 12.2, etc.



Jdeveloper can be downloaded from here:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/downloads/index.html


I prefer downloading Generic version, download both the files.




Open the below link and then click on Certification Information related to the version of jdeveloper you are installing:


Download JDK from here and install it:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html




After installing java you might come across the below issues:
a. Could not load or find main class file




Not going into detail of this error. This might come if you are using full path of your java.




b. jre is not a valid JDK Java Home






To resolve this issue just go to your JDK and run java command from there like the below:
cd C:\"Program Files (x86)"\Java\jdk1.8.0_152\bin\
java -jar D:\jdev_download\jdev_suite_122130.jar

    I would assume that we use more than the eyes to gauge a person's feelings. Mouth. Body language. Even voice. You could at least have given us a face in this test.
